Get started

Move information into Letted without typing it twice.

If you already collect tenant details in another system, a connection can bring those details into Letted. It can also create property tasks and tell another system when something changes.

You do not need to understand code to decide what you want. Start with a job you repeat, then use these guides to explain it to your software provider or the person helping you connect things.

What you can do

A simple example

You have agreed a tenancy with two people. Their details are already in your other software.

Creating the tenancy does not send an invitation. New tenants have portal access switched off unless your connection explicitly enables it.

Three terms worth knowing

API means a way for two systems to exchange information. A request might mean “show my properties” or “create this tenancy”.

API key is the private credential your other system uses to access Letted. You choose what it may do and which properties it may access.

Webhook is an update Letted sends to another system when something happens. Think of it as an automatic notification for software.

Ask for help planning a connection

Copy this prompt into ChatGPT. It includes links to the relevant guides. If ChatGPT cannot open them, use Copy page to paste the content as well:

Read these Letted guides first:
https://app.letted.com/docs/getting-started
https://app.letted.com/docs/api-reference

If you cannot open them, ask me to paste the pages rather than guessing.

I use Letted to manage my properties. Using the documentation linked above, help me work out how to connect it to [name of my other system].

The job I want to simplify is: [describe the job].

Explain the steps in plain English. Separate what Letted supports from
what my other system needs to support. Tell me what to ask its provider.
Do not assume a ready-made connector exists. Use made-up people and
properties in examples, and do not ask for my API key.

ChatGPT can help you understand and prepare the work. Pasting a guide into a chat does not by itself connect your accounts or carry out the actions. Your other system needs to support API requests, or someone needs to build the connection.

Before you begin

An organisation owner or administrator with unrestricted management access sets up the connection. Integrations require an eligible paid plan, including Founder and Portfolio plans. Each key belongs to one organisation.

Your properties and any rooms must already exist in Letted. Start by creating a key with permission to view the information you need, then check the connection can find the right property before enabling actions that change records.

What is not included

This API does not create properties or rooms, import CSV files, run an applicant pipeline, share document files, remove tenants, end tenancies, complete tasks, assign contractors or make purchases. General tenancy editing is not included: you can add tenants and change the lead tenant.

There are no “rent late”, “notice received” or “documents complete” events yet. Agreement creation from saved templates, read-only signing status and agreement events are available.

Next, create your API key or browse useful things to ask for.
